Compare towns

Choose a business type and a community above to get a quick, plainly explained read: a verdict and rough score, six signals with the numbers behind them, the evidence (competition map, people, wages, space, internet) and next steps with funding, realtors and who to call. Budget and stage are optional.

The six signals

• Demand: Is the community growing? Population change 2016–2021 vs the county and Ontario.
• Competition: How many of your business type are already there, vs the county rate per resident.
• Labour: Are people looking for work? Local unemployment vs the county.
• Space: Is there commercial space listed that fits your budget?
• Funding: How many open grant or loan programs fit your stage.
• Internet: Share of the town's mapped areas with 50/10 Mbps service.
