Enbridge Gas is the regulated natural gas utility in Dufferin County [source]. Gas mains do not reach many rural roads, so rural and off-gas properties usually use propane. Enbridge's community expansion page has a form to confirm availability.
Orangeville Hydro serves the Town of Orangeville and the Town of Grand Valley [source]. Grand Valley Energy merged into Orangeville Hydro on January 1, 2009 [source]. Orangeville Hydro is a local utility, not part of Alectra. Hydro One serves the rest of the county, including Shelburne and rural Grand Valley [source].
Municipal water serves Orangeville, Shelburne, the Grand Valley village, Mansfield, Marsville and Waldemar [source], plus Mono's Cardinal Woods and Island Lake systems [source]. Elsewhere, properties use private wells and septic systems; ask the municipality about septic approvals.
We track fibre rollouts and broadband coverage on the data hub, and the 7 internet providers serving Dufferin are on Contacts (checked 2026-10-20).

Commercial kitchens often rely on gas for ranges and water heating. Before you sign a lease, call Enbridge new service (1-866-772-1045) with the address. Off the gas network, budget for propane: tank siting, delivery access and a supplier contract.
Ask the electricity distributor for the address (Orangeville Hydro or Hydro One) whether three-phase power is at the property, its capacity, and the cost and time to connect or upgrade. Hydro One's business team handles new connections and capacity planning; the OEB Centralized Capacity Information Map is a high-level screening tool.
You will need a private well and septic system. Ask the township about septic approvals and check well records before you buy. Water-heavy uses (food, car wash, processing) should confirm supply early.
Check fibre at the exact address with each provider (see Contacts), and check mobile coverage on the ISED or CRTC maps for rural sites.
